Mud Movie

Director Jeff Nichols (who penned the script of Take Shelter) has been working on Mud, an upcoming drama movie based on a script he wrote. The film is starring Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Tye Sheridan, Sam Shepard, Sarah Paulson, Michael Shannon, Ray McKinnon, Joe Don Baker, and Paul Sparks. Mud is set to premiere at the 2012 Cannes Film festival.

Plot:
"Mud is a drama centered around two fourteen-year-old boys (Tye Sheridan and Jacob Lofland) who encounter a mysterious fugitive (Matthew McConaughey) hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Intrigued by this man, they enter into a pact to help him evade capture and reconnect with the love of his life. Though it is hard for the boys to discern truth from fiction, it isn't long until their small Arkansas town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of hunters in tow."
